Hello everyone, and welcome to the very first edition of our weekly Dev Diary, The Baseline! With this blog, we at Rebound are going to keep you up to date on the development of our next title.

Tennis Manager 2022 is in the Works
And so it's official! We know that so many of you have been asking for a long time about our plans to release a follow-up to Tennis Manager 2021, and we are happy to announce that the new game is officially in production. As the readers of this blog, you are also the very first to know!
Thank you to all of you who have bought a copy of TM21, our very first game for the PC; who have given us feedback and advice; who have pointed out bugs and issues and allowed us to solve them. This would be half the franchise it is without your help. And that is why we want to give back to you, our closest community, by keeping you in the loop as to the development of TM22.
We have been amazed by the very positive feedback from this community, making TM21 the best rated tennis game in 2021. We loved being named “The Football Manager of tennis” while knowing we are very different because of the nature of the game. We loved the way you enjoyed our simulation and the depth of gameplay and stats. Some of you told us that you’velearned more about the sport in few hours playing our game than they did in years of playing on actual college or high school teams.
We absolutely loved watching the streamers have their emotional highs and lows on our virtual courts, delivering the best out of their coaching skills, sharing so many emotions to all of us. Because in the end this is all what we are looking for as sports fans, right?

Thanks to this unbelievable energy, and because we have always had a deep ambition for the franchise to become a reference in the sports gaming space, we have decided to continue this journey.
This is not an easy call for an indie studio as you may know; such production requires a lot of investment from the entire team, and we are still a very small group. However, looking at the roadmap for the upcoming title (can’t wait to share the new features), this is definitely worth it. And we of course enjoy doing what we do. In The Baseline we will try to share this reality from the studio and strengthen our relationship with you.
What is The Baseline?
The Baseline is simply the name of our brand-new Dev Diary blog. We chose the name because we are going to give you the base line of news, updates and opinions from our team, and because to us it means that we are able to be open and honest with our community.
Every week in The Baseline, we are going to focus on a topic. Sometimes that topic will be a feature of the game (as we get closer to release); sometimes it will be a personal article aboutone of our teams or friends (partners) and what they work on; and sometimes it will be a focus on how we go about our day-to-day work in creating and improving on what we've worked on. There will be lots of variety to keep you interested, we're sure!
Every week between now and release, we'll keep you updated from The Baseline.
What to watch out for
Some areas we think need some updating (of course we have to welcome to our new baby TM22!), some we think are a little outdated and can be merged/removed. Overall you'll notice that some things have been switched around, but don't worry if you’re confused because we will explain how it works on our “#channels-description” area.
These changes have all been made with you in mind, so we count on you to share your thoughts on that; let us know if you’d like a new channel to be created, or if you’d like a poll set up on a topic – anything at all, just let our Devs know.

And that's all there is for our first edition of the Baseline! Let us know in our brand-new #tm22-chat on Discord what you think: what you think of the TM22 announcement, what you're excited for, what you'd like us to talk about next!
Until the next edition, take care!--- Jeremy
